I live in a small town outside a very large city not known for record or publishing companies. I am in High school, but would like to take every advantage I can to market my music.

Being in a small town, I can’t really network with anyone in the industry, so I’m stuck with very few performance oppurtunities and almost no chance of being signed at the moment. Right now, any submissions I could make are unsolicited and will probably end up on a shelf never to be heard.

I would really prefer not to wait until college to be able to have my music solicited to the right people. HELP!

Yes, O.K., all points expressed are good, but why the obsession in the past 50 or so years? Don’t you think it’s rather unfortunate that music produced today is so saturated with guitar? It’s kind of sad that the collective musical taste in the west isn’t more diverse.

She is losing interest and I know it’s because all of the study books are on pedagogy and has almost no focus on learning even the easy pieces of music (children’s tunes) that a typical piano lesson book might have.
